The group was created at the beginning of June 2011, by teacher Wagner Luiz dos Santos, who works with meat inspection. It includes the teacher, veterinary doctors, undergraduate and graduate students and is always open to new members.
Its objective is to discuss the situation of veterinary doctors, their inclusion in the labor market and the social setting, focusing mainly on the area of interest, industrial and sanitary inspection of animal products. The group discusses the application for work places, the political issues of the profession, such as salary requirements, rights and responsibilities and seeks a greater interaction of veterinary doctors, since it is a profession with a huge potential, but which is very weak because of the lack of unity.
Meetings are held on Thursdays at 1 pm in the Department of Technology and Inspection of Animal Products (DTIPOA) of the School of Veterinary Medicine.
