The School of Veterinary Sciences of the UFMG provides an Integrated Residence Program in Veterinary Medicine, with areas of concentration in Anesthesiology in Pets, Clinical Surgery in Pets, Medical Clinic and Surgery of large animals, Medical Clinic in Pets, Medical Clinic for Horses, Medical Clinic for Ruminants, Image Diagnostics in Pets, Animal Pathology and Veterinary Clinical Pathology.
This form of graduate studies with on-the-job training was regulated by Law no 11.129, of June 30, 2005 and Inter-Ministerial Law no 2.117, of November 3, 2005 defining guidelines and strategies for the implementation of the National Committee of Multiprofessional Residents in Health (CNRMS).
The Integrated Residence in Veterinary Medicine HC/UFMG, authorized by the Multiprofessional Residence Committee of UFMG (COREMU/UFMG) and by the Minister of Education and Culture (MEC) in 2011.
It is a two-year program with 60 weekly course hours, to a total of 5,760 hours.
To join the Integrated Residence Program in Veterinary Medicine of the School of Veterinary Medicine of UFMG, the applicant must be a graduate in Veterinary Medicine approved in a selection procedure held by the coordination of the course and the Multiprofessional Residence Committee (COREMU). The Resident in Veterinary Medicine will receive a monthly compensation throughout the Residence Program, as established by the Minister of Education (National Scholarship Program for Multiprofessional Residences and Health Professional sphere).
COREMU is the agency that coordinates and ensures the fulfillment of the Multiprofessional Integrated Residence Program of HC/UFMG and of all UFMG.
