The Library of the School of Veterinary Medicine of the UFMG, together with another 28, is part of the UFMG Library System - SB/UFMG. It is technically subordinated to the University Library and administratively to the School Dean.
Its main objective is to gather, organize and disseminate information and services necessary for teaching, research and extension in veterinary medicine, zootechnology, food technology and related areas.
The collection of the Library of the School of Veterinary Medicine of the UFMG is made up of works of reference, dissertations, theses, leaflets, text books, videos, CD-ROMs and national and foreign journals. Access to the shelves is free and loans are available for most of the works, with the exception of: reference works, journals and reserve collections.
The library has an area of 1,522m² and includes: reception, lockers, loan and reference sectors, main collections sector, reading rooms, group and individual study booths and administrative area with journals sector, head librarian's office, text processing, office and photocopying.
